How it works
Four steps from a date to its story
Old Calendars is built for one job: helping you look back at any day and understand it.
Pick a year
Choose any year from 1995 to 2027. The full twelve-month calendar opens at the top of the page, with week numbers and moon phases you can switch on.
Check the holidays
Federal holidays are shaded red, with the observed day off when one fell on a weekend. Religious, cultural and civic dates are color-coded and listed below the calendar.
Read what happened
Every year has a timeline of its biggest moments, with in-depth articles on the events people still look up. Gold dots on the calendar mark those dates.
Print or calculate
Download the year or monthly PDF, or use the calculators to find a weekday, an exact age, the days between two dates or the years that share a calendar.

About Old Calendars
What is Old Calendars?
Old Calendars is a free reference site with a complete US calendar for every year from 1995 to 2027. Each year shows all twelve months with federal holidays and observed days, religious and cultural dates, moon phases and seasons, plus a researched timeline of what happened that year.
How far back do the calendars go?
Every year from 1995 through 2027 has its own permanent page. The day of the week calculator and same calendar finder work for any year from 1583 onward.
Are the holiday dates actual dates or observed dates?
Both. When a federal holiday falls on a Saturday, federal workers get the Friday before off; a Sunday holiday moves to Monday. Year pages show the real date and the observed day off, and explain each change.
Can I print or download a calendar?
Yes. Every year has a free one-page Year PDF and a twelve-page Monthly PDF with holidays written in the day boxes, both sized for US Letter paper. You can also press Print on any year page.
Where does the history come from?
Year timelines and event articles are researched from government archives, official organizations, universities and established news services. Every article lists its sources. See our editorial policy for details.
Why would someone need an old calendar?
People use past calendars to find the weekday they were born, check dates in family records, verify working days and holidays for paperwork, build school timelines, plan anniversaries and reuse an old printed calendar in a matching year.
Is Old Calendars free?
Yes. There is no account, no sign-up and no paywall. Calculators run in your browser, and nothing you type is stored.
